Dakar — Arrival, Corniche & gastronomy
Welcome at the airport or meeting point. Hotel check-in. Afternoon: Corniche Ouest, Soumbédioune market, first taste of Dakar. Senegalese gourmet dinner (welcome thiéboudienne or mafé). Overnight in Dakar.

Morning: ferry to Gorée (20 min) — House of Slaves, Creole streets, bay view. Afternoon: Médina and markets, then African Renaissance Monument (360° view). Dinner. Overnight in Dakar.

Departure at 8am. Drive via Kaolack (2h45). Arrival in Ndangane. Lunch. Pirogue trip through the bolongs. Eco-lodge check-in. Dinner by the delta. Overnight in Sine Saloum.

Pirogue to Mar Lodj — baobab picnic. Kayaking, horseback riding, activities. Sunset over the delta. Overnight at the eco-lodge.

Morning: UNESCO colonial island, Faidherbe bridge, market. Afternoon: Djoudj Park by pirogue (Ramsar, 3M migratory birds). Dinner. Overnight in Saint-Louis.

Drive to Tambacounda (5h) — crossing the country's centre, savanna, Fulani villages, the Ferlo. Lunch en route. Arrival in Tambacounda. Overnight.

Drive to Kédougou (2h30). Lunch. Afternoon: trek to the Dindefelo falls (1h30 each way, 100 m drop). Swim in the natural pool. Back to camp. Dinner. Overnight in Kédougou.

Are domestic flights included?+
Yes. The Grand Tour includes the domestic flights: the link to Tambacounda/Kédougou and the Ziguinchor-Dakar flight for the return. Only international flights to Dakar are not included.
Is Kédougou accessible for all profiles?+
Kédougou is accessible to anyone in good physical condition. The Dindefelo trek (1h30 each way, uneven terrain) is of moderate difficulty. The Bassari villages are visited on foot. A good pair of walking shoes is essential.
Is this circuit suited to the diaspora returning to Senegal?+
It's the circuit most requested by diaspora travellers returning after several years away. It offers a complete, in-depth view of the country. Special diaspora departures run in July-August. Prices in euros available.
